I commend the Ministry of Education for its proposed plans to drop the 8-4-4 system of education and adopt a more workable one.
This is indeed welcome given the irrelevance of the current system that only breeds dependent employees.
Kenya needs a system that will enable children become producers and employers as well as innovators.
The proposed 2-6-6-3 system should allow young ones to specialise at high school level and focus on specific areas of interest before they are occupied with many life issues.
Hands-on professions should be given more attention to curb joblessness.
