CNN Multichoice Africa Journalist of the Year overall winner Joseph Mathenge arrived in Atlanta, Georgia, in the US last week for a three-week fellowship at the CNN Centre.

Mr Mathenge is the only African out of the 10 fellows currently undergoing the programme.

"I am impressed with the high level of technology and the kind of research and staff support reporters are accorded here. Everything seems to get attention," said Mathenge after attending the second day of training.

The intensive three-week fellowship is designed for the professional development of journalists with at least three years' experience in broadcasting.
