Quick fix
If your hair is very oily and you are desperate to clean it but don’t want to get it in the shampoo sink, the following steps can be a quick fix. All you need is some talcum or baby powder and a hairbrush.
• Pour some powder (talcum) in your palm.
• Bend down so that your hair flips upside down then apply the powder.
• Using the hairbrush, brush the powder all over your hair ensuring it reaches each strand.
• Leave the powder on for a while, then brush it off thoroughly.
Dyed hair
The best results are for those who have dyed their hair a light colour. If your hair is dark, the powder could be visible if you don’t brush it out well. It is best to do it when you are spending an entire day at home so that if your hair looks white, you have ample time to clear up the powder.
Remember this is a quick fix, thus you should not stay with it for many days.
There are also other ways you can hide the dirt in your hair without necessarily washing it.
Accessories: Hide your hair under a bandana, headscarf scarf, a wig or a headband. Anything that covers your hair or just a part of it will do. No one will notice your hair is dirty and you’ll also look stylish.
Styling: If you have long hair, you can make one matuta; which only takes a few minutes. Did you know that it is actually easier to braid hair when it is dirty? A ponytail will also help disguise dirty hair.
