Hello amazing people! Let's prepare some gourmet homemade burgers. Sometimes it's actually fun to make your own burgers from scratch. This way, you get to spice up the beef mince the way you like it.

A little bit of garlic in the mix makes such a huge difference you get to top it up with some extra cheese just the you like it!

And also make your own caramelised onions by heating a little oil in a large frying pan over low heat, add your sliced the onions and a good pinch of salt, cook slowly for 15-20 minutes once golden add a little sugar and some vinegar - this will start the caramelisation process.

And voila! You have your gorgeous caramelised onions.

Cheeseburgers

Ingredients:

500g minced beef

1 large egg

1 teaspoon garlic minced

About 1/2 teaspoon salt

About 1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 like juice

4 burger buns with sim sim - split into 2

1/4 cup mayonnaise

500g Cheddar Cheese

1/4 cup ketchup

4 iceberg lettuce leaves, rinsed and crisped

1 ripe tomato, thinly sliced

1 large onions sliced and cooked in vinegar and a little sugar until soft and caramelised.

Directions:

In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, lime garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper until well blended.

Divide mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty about 4 inches wide.

Lay burgers on an oiled hot pan on high heat Cook burgers, turning once, until browned on both sides and no longer pink inside (cut to test), 7 to 8 minutes total add the cheddar cheese on top gratin-ate in the oven until cheese melts.

Lay buns, cut side down, on pan and cook until lightly toasted, 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Spread mayonnaise on bun bottoms.

Add lettuce, tomato, burger, caramelised onion, ketchup and pepper to taste. Set bun tops in place.
