- During the champion bull auction, the President beat Mike Sonko to secure the 700kg bull at Sh1.2 million
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday 4th officially opened the Nairobi International Trade Fair at Jamhuri Park Showground. Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko accompanied the President on the official opening of the annual event.
The President took part in the Nairobi International Trade Fair Auction alongside the governor, locals, farmers and butchers for the champion bull. The champion bull was auctioned alongside other bulls.
Uhuru beat Sonko in the auction to buy the 700 kilogrammes champion bull at a whooping Sh1.2 million. The county boss did not leave empty handed though as he also saw off competition to buy the reserve champion bull at Sh1 million.
The two bulls, sold at Sh2.2 million were reared by the Kenya Seed Company. The company’s bulls have a five-year back to back winning streak in the competition.
According to Kenya Seed Company managing director, Mr Azaria Soi, the secret behind the healthy bulls is the right choice of animal feeds as well as the right selection for the breed to be reared.
