Homa Bay, Kenya: A 13-year-old boy has been arraigned at the Oyugis Court and charged with defiling a two-and-half-year-old girl.
The Standard Seven pupil appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate George Ong’ondo where Prosecutor Alfred Shiveka said he committed the offence on June 29 at the teachers’ quarters of a secondary school where they were staying.
The boy is said to have been living with his father, who is deputy principal at the school, while the girl lives in the same compound with her mother and uncle.
The incident occurred when the girl was left alone in the house, after her mother went to fetch water from a nearby water source, and the boy allegedly took her into their house where he violated her.
He was released on a Sh200,000 bond and the case will be mentioned on June 22.
