Turkana, Kenya: Two Kenya Police Reservists (KPRs) were killed and another seriously injured in simultaneous raids at Kakong and Kainuk in Turkana South sub-county on Friday.
More than 2,000 goats were also stolen.
Acting County Police Commandant Joel Kirui said when a team of regular police officers, Administration Police, Anti-Stock Theft Unit and KPR arrived at the scene near Kainuk bridge, one reservist was already dead.
He said another injured KPR officer was taken to Kainuk Heath Centre and is now in stable condition. Kirui said despite the unfortunate attack, security patrols were still being conducted.
But in Kakong, about 50 kilometres from Kainuk, there was another raid, according to John Kang’iro, the Kakong Assistant Chief.
