Naivasha, Kenya: A 29-year-old man, who defiled her seven-year-old daughter and infecting her with HIV/Aids has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a Naivasha court.
Titus Ndegwa Murage, a casual labourer, was left in tears as police escorted him to jail to begin his term after he was found guilty.
Naivasha Senior Principal Magistrate Peter Gesora termed the charge as heinous noting that the prosecution has proven the case beyond reasonable doubt.
In his ruling, the magistrate said the medical evidence and the testimony of the minor had proved that the accused committed the act.
The accused had been charged that on March 5, 2014 in Ngodi village in Naivasha, he defiled his daughter.
Murage, who was unrepresented, faced an alternative charge of indecently assaulting the minor by touching her private parts.

Evidence adduced by medical personnel indicated that the minor was infected with HIV Aids by the accused, who sexually abused her when the mother was away.
