Olympic 3,000 metres steeplechase champion Ezekiel Kemboi has denied reports that he lost Sh4 million while gambling at a casino in Eldoret.
“Honestly, whoever came up with such a story is mad. How can one walk around with Sh4 million?” asked a bemused Kemboi.
Earlier this week, it had been reported that the athlete lost the money and couldn’t face his wife. Rumours on the blogosphere and social media further intimated that the star athlete was now selling his two luxury vehicles to recover the lost amount.
“This is the most stupid rumour I have ever had. I haven’t lost any money in a casino and even if I am selling my car, that’s normal, people sell and buy cars all the time. Its nobody’s business whether I sell or buy a car,” said Kemboi.
