KITUI, KENYA: Cord deputy leader and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has lost his grandmother at the age of 117.
Nduki Kiteme was born in 1896 at Nguuni area, Kyanika village, Tseikuru district in Kitui County.
She was the mother to Mr Musyoka’s mother, Sarah Malia, who passed on in 2006. Granny Nduki was believed to be one of the oldest people from the county.
But villagers who talked to The Standard said the exact date of Nduki’s birth is not known.

The late grandmother who leaves behind 22 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren will be buried on Wednesday at Mususya Village, Ivoniangya Sub location, Kyuso district in Mwingi North constituency.
The late Nduki moved into Mr Musyoka’s Muuna village home in 1999 when she started ailing.
