Ugandan Walusimbi rescues K’Ogalo as Ulinzi Stars trash Posta's unbeaten streak.
Ugandan import Godfrey Walusimbi came off the bench to rescue a point for Gor Mahia as the former Kenyan Premier League champions were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Thika United at Nyayo Stadium yesterday.
Ulinzi Stars went level on points (24) with third-placed Tusker after ending Posta Rangers’ 11-game unbeaten run in Nakuru.
Stephen Waruru’s 50th minute goal is all the Soldiers needed to silence the mailmen and leapfrog them into the second place.

Nakumatt stunned Chemelil Sugar 2-1 at Ruaraka as Sony Sugar bounced back to beat visiting Western Stima 2-0.
It is not only Gor players and their coach Jose Marcello who were left frustrated by the draw but also a section of their fans too who confronted Thika coach Nicholas Muyoti after the game.
But Gor Mahia have only themselves to blame for the draw after wasting numerous scoring chances with Timothy Otieno, Meddie Kagere and George Odhiambo being the main victims.
Thika went ahead on the half hour mark when when Shami Kibwana received a pass from the midfield, beat advancing Boniface Oluoch before slotting the ball into the empty net.
This was just after the trio of Otieno, Kagere and Wellington Ochieng had wasted decent scoring opportunities.
Otieno’s penalty kick was then saved by Thika goalkeeper Eliud Emase in the 66th minute after Jacques Tuyisenge had been tripped in the box.
But with less than seven minutes to go, Walusimbi's well-curved free kick salvaged a point for the league leaders.
