Former international and Gor Mahia legend Nashon Oluoch ‘Lule’ has urged the newly-elected Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to break with the past. Oluoch said the federation's tradition made the sport one of the most controversial.
Oluoch said Nick Mwendwa’s group is a product of the outgoing office and will have to work hard to restore credibility in the country’s football management.
“They must change tack and break from the past. They must assure us that they are not old wine in new sheepskin, as is widely believed,” said Oluoch on telephone from Nakuru.
Shabana FC founder, Dogo Khan, congratulated Mwendwa and urged him to adopt an open-door policy in his management.
“Don’t be a know-it-all kind of manager as we have seen some people in the past, but allow ideas to flow into the federation. Our football will be the winner,” he said from Kisii.

From Kisumu, former international Apollo Otuoro congratulated Mwendwa and said he is the best thing to have happened to football.
“I am happy that he has won. He should now embark on revamping the sport from all corners of the country,” said Otuoro.
Politician Eliud Owalo also sent his congratulations to Nick Mwendwa. “I also commend Ambrose Rachier for fighting a good fight.
"The job is clearly cut out for Nick-Kenyan soccer lovers are looking forward to radical changes and a paradigm shift in the way football affairs are managed in this country,” he said.
