Kenyans’ tastes are one of the factors causing the shilling to rapidly deteriorate. We should prioritise Kenyan products and services, especially where there are alternatives. The Government should advice its citizens to consume Kenyan products.
Today, Chinese toothpastes, Netherlands chocolates and Indian margarine, all have local substitutes in the market. Buying such kills our shilling and the local industry too.
Mitumba now dominates 90 per cent of the local market.
