Vihiga, Kenya: Former Deputy Prime Minister Musalia Mudavadi had been asked to support Vihiga County Governor Moses Akaranga’s administration.
Hamisi MP Charles Gimose said that Mudavadi should lead MPs and other elected leaders in supporting Mr Akaranga’s development initiatives.
Mr Gimose noted that Mudavadi, four MPs and Members of County Assembly (MCAs) should put aside their political differences and back Akaranga’s development agenda for Vihiga people.
Other MPs from the County include Yusuf Chanzu (UDF, Vihiga), Alfred Agoi (UDF, Sabatia) Dr Wilber Otichilo (ODM, Emuhaya) and Omulela (ODM, Luanda).

Akaranga was elected on the Progressive Party of Kenya (PPK) ticket after wading through the UDF and ODM wave in the county in the last General Elections.
“It is not good for our County when Mudavadi and other leaders are pulling the opposite side with Akaranga. Development of the County requires input of all leaders and not the Governor alone,” he added.
Speaking at Kitagwa Primary School in a company of Akaranga during a tour of Hamisi constituency Tuesday Gimose said, “We should not allow political difference to play out at the moment when we should be focusing on assisting the Governor with development ideas.”
“This County belongs to all of us and elected leaders should not fear that by taking part in development programmes they would be giving Akaranga a political mileage,” said Gimose.
He noted that he had resolved to work with Akaranga despite both of them subscribing to different political parties and his colleagues should do the same for the County to move forward.
Since losing presidency in the last General Elections Mudavadi has kept off the County activities.
Akaranga upset Mudavadi by beating UDF candidate for the Governor’s seat Dr Jairus Amayi despite the later enjoying the former DPM’s support in the last General Elections.
Akaranga said he welcomed the support of all leaders in the County to achieve his development goals.
He noted that time for politics was over and his focus was on serving Vihiga people.
