New Stoke boss Mark Hughes is also chasing Celtic’s Kenyan midfielder.
But Wanyama, 21, revealed Saints have now agreed a fee with the Scottish champions. And he is poised to open talks with them this week.
The African power- house, who cost Hoops a bargain £900,000 from Belgian club Beerschot two years ago, said: “My club has agreed a deal with Southampton but I will also have to consider terms before I become a Saint.”
