A man has been charged in an Eldoret Court with posting a hate speech message on his Facebook account.
Fred Kitowoy Kipsiwa, a nursing intern at the Trans Nzoia County Referral Hospital, allegedly threatened members of two communities through a post dated March 11, 2017.
The offence is in contravention of Section 62(1) of the National Cohesion and Integration Act No 12 of 2008.
The accused denied the charges before Chief Magistrate Charles Obulutsa and sought more time to access witness statements and pleaded for lenient bail terms.
Mr Kipsiwa was charged a day after Meshack Kipchirchir Korir was also charged with ethnic contempt.
