Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o stars in her first Chanel campaign as part of the Spring/Summer 2025 Eyewear collection, joining a roster of renowned celebrities.

The Kenyan actress and producer took to her social media pages and posted pictures of herself in a black two-piece suit and a pair of dark glasses courtesy of the luxury brand, Chanel.

However, this isn't the first time the “12 Years A Slave” actress has worked with the fabled French fashion house. In 2024, she was named Chanel’s brand ambassador. The French luxury fashion house shared the news after the “Black Panther” sensation attended the spring 2025 ready-to-wear show at the Grand Palais. The honourable announcement happened on the final day of Paris Fashion Week.

Lupita Nyong’o has had a long relationship with Chanel, wearing their designs on red carpets for over 10 years. She went to Chanel’s fall 2023 haute couture show in Paris and wore one of their gowns at the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles last December. In an interview with WWD (Women’s Wear Daily), she shared her passion for the luxury brand and her incredible journey with it.

“They were one of my first supporters. I remember wearing Chanel back in 2013 when my first movie, ‘12 Years a Slave’, came out. Since then, they’ve often invited me to events and treated me so well. So when they asked me to become an ambassador, I felt really honoured,” Lupita said.

The “Wild Robot” lead character joined a list of famous Chanel ambassadors such as ‘Barbie’ actress Margot Robbie, Whitney Peak, Riley Keough, Kristen Stewart, Charlotte Casiraghi, and contributions from Rhonda Richford.

“Of course, this is an important brand, a legacy brand, a historical brand, and I’m happy and very proud to add to that legacy,” she stated.

In 2025, Chanel added Grammy-winner and ‘Not Like Us’ hitmaker Kendrick Lamar to their roster of ambassadors, making his official debut as the face of the Chanel Eyewear campaign for the Spring/Summer 2025 season alongside Lupita Nyong’o.

The talented actress was also joined by American model and actress Margaret Qualley and Japanese actress and model Nana Komatsu. The glamorous unveiling was directed by Karim Sadli. He is a Parisian-born, London-based photographer who has worked with top brands and magazines such as Balmain, Chanel, Vogue, and British Vogue.

Taking to their social media page, luxury fashion house Chanel praised Lupita for portraying her personal style in the latest eyewear campaign and encouraged people to get them.

“Wearing sunglasses adorned with the emblematic Double C, actress and House ambassador Lupita Nyong’o expresses her personal style in the CHANEL Spring-Summer 2025 eyewear campaign,” Chanel management wrote.
