President William Ruto momentarily put aside his presidential stature to take on a rather familiar family role, becoming a personal fan operator for his wife, First Lady Rachel Ruto and daughter Charlene as they prepared to enter her wedding venue in Mwanza, Tanzania.
In a video that has attracted attention online, the Head of State is seen holding a small portable electric fan, directing the breeze towards the two women as they wait for the wedding proceedings to begin.
Dressed in his in Stephano Ricci Egyptian Hieroglyphic blazer with a black trouser, white shirt and cream-coloured hat, Ruto appears relaxed as he alternates the device between his daughter and wife, ensuring they remain comfortable in the warm conditions.

At one point, Ruto directs the fan towards Charlene's face, seemingly mindful of the layers of fabric and embellishments covering her bridal outfit, before turning to Rachel to offer her a cooling breeze as well.
The First Lady, dressed in an elegant maroon and floral ensemble with a matching wide-brimmed hat, appeared emotional during the preparations, occasionally raising her hand towards her face.
The seemingly ordinary gesture offered an intimate glimpse of the President away from the demanding responsibilities of his office, showing him attending to the little comforts of his family on an important occasion.
It also provided a contrast to the grandeur surrounding the wedding, where attention was largely focused on the bride's elaborate gown, the carefully decorated venue and the high-profile guests who travelled to celebrate the union.
Social media users were particularly drawn to the fatherly gesture, with some appreciating the President for showing affection through a simple act of service rather than grand displays.
The moment also came shortly before Ruto and Rachel escorted their daughter down the aisle, where she exchanged vows with Tanzanian businessman Isaya Yunge on Friday, November 6.
The outdoor ceremony, held in Mwanza, marked a significant milestone for the couple, whose celebrations had included a traditional Kalenjin Koito ceremony in Kilgoris, Narok County, in August.
While the wedding attracted attention for its glamour and prominent guests, the brief fan moment offered a different picture, a father looking after his daughter on one of the biggest days of her life, even as he prepared to walk down the aisle.
