To cut a long story short, the day Evelyne came back, one would have expected the two to walk separate ways.
Not at all. Other than the usual anger of imagining what might have happened, the two just sat and talked.

They took stock of where they had come from and since Sam was not going to be the first one throw the first stone, they opened a new chapter and he and her are planning their engagement party now.
I was surprised at that. But I tell you what, I couldn't hide my admiration for Sam. Forgiving, he told me, liberates the soul and he and Evelyne have never had such great times since after that. I have no idea how I would handle such a situation.
In my case, Annete clearly had me in her palms. Sam was exhilarated that we were finally "tamed". At first, the thought of that gave me palpitations. I was getting used to Annete. I couldn't just get over that tantalising feeling of mke nyumbani.
I soon realised —may be lately— that we men need women for three things; warm food, a clean underwear, an ironed shirt to wear to the office and sex. As long as I was having those, there was nothing to look forward to in life really.
I kissed goodbye the lonely nights when I used to wonder if any woman would tether me.
