Smokin Wanjala has quit the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (KACC).

Wanjala, who was KACC deputy director, handed over his resignation letter to President Kibaki on Friday afternoon.

This development comes two days after Parliament rejected the reappointments KACC’s top brass who included Justice Aaron Ringera and his deputies Fatuma Sichale and Wanjala.

Kibaki’s unilateral decision to reappoint Ringera and his two deputies hit the wall when MPs voted on Wednesday to demand he annuls his action.
