One would think cooking rice is a simple task but you would be surprised how many people easily botch it up. We all have different techniques of cooking rice, from what is put in the cooking pot first (Oil? Rice? Water?) to what temperature of water to use to how long it needs to cook over an open fire. Now with a rice cooker, none of that really matters. One simply follows instructions given which are straightforward.

Most rice cookers are a single appliance with an electric power cord, a serving spoon and a lid. The cooker has simple-to-use settings - “cook” and “warm”. To use, one simply adds in their measured rice, some oil and right amount of water. Cover the cooker, plug it in and flip the switch to cook mode then allow to cook. Once ready, the switch flips to keep warm mode, and thereafter can be switched off if ready to serve or kept warm until ready to serve.

Look for a rice cooker in major supermarkets, kitchen appliance shops and online stores. Price varies depending on brand and size.
