Vinegar is an inexpensive and sure way of cleaning your fruits and vegetables even in situations where flowing water is a challenge. 

Vinegar is a liquid produced from fermentation of ethanol into acetic acid. Soaking your fruits and/or vegetables for no less than 10 minutes in a solution of 3 cups water and 1 cup vinegar (or double/triple the amount depending on the quantity of your fruits and vegetables) is a sure way of getting dirt and pesticide residue off your fruits and vegetables. It is available in shops and supermarkets for Sh50 for 300ml and Sh300 for 5 litres.?
