Healthy living is a commitment that goes on for a lifetime. The sooner you start, the better your life will be especially when talking about health benefits.

Something positive about getting healthy is that it’s never too late for anyone to start. It’s always better to encourage yourself to kick start the journey then take things one day at a time until you reach your body goals.

When it comes to exercising, you should know that everyone starts somewhere. When you compare yourself to those who have been working out for years already, you can get discouraged.

It’s okay to begin with the workout basics as you keep progressing.

These are some of the exercises you can start with.

Jump rope routines

Skipping is something most of us have abandoned. We loved to play skipping games with our friends as kids but as the years went on, we gradually gave up.

But now, you really don’t know what you’re missing out by not trying out skipping as part of your working out routine.

It’s time to shop for a skipping rope and set your schedule daily when you’ll be exercising.

You can begin with 30 skips then gradually increase to when you can even do more than 100 each day.

Dance cardio

Let’s face it, working out isn’t fun during those first days. Actually, there are still times when you will struggle even after you’ve been exercising for years.

Something you could try as motivation to workout is cardio.

Cardio remains at the top of the list as one of the most effective workouts and in this case, adding an interesting twist by doing a dance cardio will boost your enthusiasm even more.

In your workout routine, set specific days when you’ll be doing a dance cardio during the week. This will get you pumped up every time because you will always be excited to dance to your favourite jams.

Sit-ups

This exercise is a low impact and effective way to get you closer to your dream abs.

It’s hard to immediately jump into the advanced ab workout techniques so you can prep your body by doing sit-ups consistently.

Do a few each day then gradually increase the number.

At some point, you can also consider adding some weights to improve the impact of the workout.

Another benefit Is the fact that you can even invest in a treadmill that allows you to jog on the spot.

Jogging will burn calories, boost your cardiovascular system and strengthen your body. Start by taking daily walks, progress to jogging then soon you will manage daily runs.

Swimming

When was the last time you went swimming? Do you usually avoid the water as much as you can by sitting by the poolside?

That should change as soon as possible because you can actually sneak in a worthwhile workout session while you have fun.

Swimming increases your flexibility, eliminates the extra calories and has some relaxing benefits too.

Sign up for swimming at a place near you and ensure you go regularly as you combine that with your other exercises.

Bike riding

The benefits that come with the exercise are endless. You’ll get lots of positive results from strengthened physical and mental health all the way to healing specific health conditions like arthritis.

Cycling isn’t just a beginner’s workout you can always incorporate it into your routine months or years after you advanced.
