The CS took the moment to congratulate the officers on their promotions urging them to deliver on their added responsibilities.

“These promotions were carefully considered, they were merit-based and are to drive vision, They were not a guarantee or a right, but a responsibility that comes with huge expectations. This is a clear indication of the trust and confidence of the Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces, President Uhuru Kenyatta who is delegating additional duties to you,” the CS said.

The event, hosted under CS Juma’s mentorship program ‘Athena; Women in Security Mentorship Program’, was attended by, among other dignitaries, the Vice Chief of Defence Forces Lieutenant General Francis Ogolla who urged the promoted officers to be complacent but deliver on their mandate.
