Rapper chops off his privates while trying to commit suicide

It has been claimed that a rapper affiliated with the hip-hop group the Wu-Tang Clan chopped off his own penis before attempting to commit suicide.

TMZ.com reports the musician - named as Andre Johnson - was rushed to hospital after cutting off his manhood and jumping from a second story balcony.

Police reportedly believe that Johnson - who is also known as Christ Bearer, a member of the rap group Northstar - was attempting to commit suicide.

According to the site's sources, the injured man was found in North Hollywood in the early hours of the morning and taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

It is unclear what treatment he is receiving.

TMZ reports Johnson's group Northstar is affiliated with the Wu-Tang Clan - a hip-hop group formed in New York which has launched the careers of several artists and groups.

But a rep for the Wu-Tang Clan denied the rapper was anything to do with them, insisting they have never heard of him before.

They told us: "He is not of any affiliation to Wu-Tang Clan or any of its subsidiaries. No one here has ever seen or heard of this fool until now."
