The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company on Wednesday announced a leakage on the raw water pipeline from Mwagu water intake along Chania River to Ngethu Water Treatment Plant.
This means the plant will be shut down between Thursday, March 10, 2022, 6am and Friday, March 11, 2022, 6pm.
As a result, a number of areas will not have water for the said period:
- The CBD, University of Nairobi main campus, Coca Cola Factory, JKIA, EPZ
- South B, South C and their environs
- Industrial Area and Upper Hill
- Juja Road, Mlango Kubwa, Mathare, Eastleigh Airforce Base, Huruma, Kariobangi, Pamgani
- Maringo, Bahati, Buruburu and surrounding estates
- Outer-ring road; Baba Dogo, Dandora, Dandora KCC factory, Umoja 1 and 2, Donholm, Fedha, Tassia, Avenue Park, Nyayo
- Kangundo Road; Ruai, Kayole, Komarock, Njiru
- Thika Road; Kenya Breweries, KU, Kahawa Barracks, Kasarani, Mwiki, Kahawa Sukari, Garden Estate, Thome
- Parklands, Ngara, Aga Khan, UON –School of Law, City Park, Gigiri, Muthaiga
- Naivasha Road, Kawangware, Riruta, Uthiru, Ndwaru, Mountain View, Kangemi, Uthiru, Waithaka
- James Gichuru road, Waiyaki Way, Riverside, Westlands, Lavington, Kilimani, Kileleshwa
- Langata Road; Madaraka, Langata, Kibera, Karen
Customers in affected areas have been urged to use water sparingly during the period of interruption.
