The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is looking for four people following viral videos doing rounds on social media.
In the videos, three of the suspects believed to be part of a larger syndicate in the illegal business of printing fake currency were caught on camera mercilessly beating up one of their own after he flaunted a bunch of Sh1,000 notes while partying with several women.
The video of the man flashing the cash went viral a few days ago. It sent Kenyans on social media talking about a recent expose by a popular blogger.
DCI says the man, who seemed intoxicated when filming the video, had promised the women an adventurous trip to the coast.

However, according to the sleuths, the man revealed his accomplices’ dirty dealings, which prompted them to storm his house and give him a dog’s beating, accusing him of betrayal.
“When his accomplices learnt about his escapades, they stormed his house and descended on him mercilessly accusing him of disloyalty, betrayal and not ‘working smart,’” said the DCI.
The DCI further asked Kenyans to watch the videos and assist them in identifying the suspects.
A week ago, the DCI detectives arrested three money-laundering suspects in an apartment in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, after they were found with various fake local and foreign currencies.
During the operation, DCI found several fake US dollar notes and a machine believed to be used in developing the counterfeit notes.
