Kiza lounge and restaurant located on Galana plaza, Kilimani, has organised a fundraiser in aid of the late showbiz mogul Kevin Ombajo (Big Kev) which will see all proceeds from their sales tonight, Thursday 3rd of August, go towards the same course.

The fundraiser is to be followed by an all-white celebration of his life at the Nairobi chapel.

This is after a successful fundraiser on Wednesday where former colleagues, business partners, friends and family came together at the Nairobi Baptist Church in aid of his accrued medical bill where an impressive amount was raised.

Speaking at Wednesday’s fundraiser, Kiza lounge CEO Ali Oumarou invited stakeholders in the entertainment industry to join in support of this course.

"I'm new in the entertainment industry but I have heard inspiring stories of how Big Kev helped launch the careers of many artists most of whom we are currently working with.

We have talked to the family and agreed that all the profits from our Thursday sales will go to the family and the medical fund," he said amidst an applause.

The KIZA director didn't disclose the night's activities but urged all those in the entertainment industry to stand behind Big Kev's family because "they really do need us at this trying time."

Big Kev will forever be remembered for his contribution to the music industry after he hit the scene in 1995 before joining Capital FM and later forming his events company Tru Blaq entertainment which is run by his sister, Jacky Ombajo.

The KIZA event will start from 5pm till late hours.
