Next time you insult someone ‘in Satan’s name’, know that can easily land in court. A 20-year-old woman who allegedly called her neighbour “devil worshipper” has been charged for mentioning the name in public.
Mary Kathini insulted Esther Munyao in Mukuru kwa Njenga on March 11. Kathini further allegedly used other vulgar words against Munyao including “prostitute”, the police said. The two had allegedly argued over a Sh1,410 jacket sold to Munyao by Kathini. Her buyer had refused to pay, which led to a confrontation between the two women.
Makadara acting principal magistrate Eunice Nyutu released Kathini on Sh20,000 bail after she appeared not sure whether to plead guilty or not.
