The university of Nairobi and Kenyatta University still top other local universities according to Webometrics.
The latest university ranking placed University of Nairobi at position 9 out of Africa’s 1326 universities followed by Kenyatta University at position 34.
The University of Nairobi moved from position 14 in the previous ranking. This is the highest since the ranking started in 2004. Overall, the University is ranked position 1,167 in the world.
Cairo and Cape Town Universities took positions one and two respectively. Kwa-Zulu Natal dropped to number five from position one.
UoN trounced Makerere – which was leading in the region – as Harvard consolidated its worldwide lead.
