A senior police officer in Nakuru County is a marked man over claims that he has been colluding with individuals involved in car theft.
Detectives from Uasin Gishu have reportedly linked the rogue officer to a suspect involved in car theft in the region.
The Grapevine has learnt that the officer recently tried to protect a suspect in a case where a car stolen from Eldoret was recovered in the county.
The man initially protected the man from being handed over to officers in Eldoret where the crime took place.
There has been an increase in theft of cars in major town in Rift Valley and they are believed to be sold to unsuspecting customers in various car yards under different number plates.
