The body of 22-year-old woman was yesterday morning found dumped in Kakamega Forest.
Dorice Musiya’s body was found by two women who had gone to fetch firewood in the forest in Mahiakhalo ward in Lurambi sub-county.
They said the body seemed to have been dragged along a path. “She was naked and we think she might have been raped,” one of the women said.
County DCI Commander John Onyango said a rope was found next to the body, indicating the woman might have been strangled.
“We have been told she left home as late as 6pm to fetch firewood in the forest. We haven’t found any evidence she was raped,” said Mr Onyango, adding that further investigations were being conducted.
