Elections are a highly emotive issue in Kenya at the moment. Many say this is because of the winner-take-all approach in which nobody cares about poll losers.

That is why the battle for elective offices in Kenya is vicious and the fighters are ruthless.

This explains why Opposition supporters across the country were determined to do everything possible to stop yesterday’s repeat presidential election.

In way of blocking interested parties away from polling stations, they came out in different styles all the way from Migori, Kisumu and Kibera to weld the gates shut, block the main entrance or simply use the thorn trees to barricade entrance.
