The ongoing elections officials recruitment process yesterday left several hopefuls frustrated after the IEBC officials decided to test IT skills practically in Awasi.
The interviews aimed at getting good polling clerks for the coming general election is now more serious than before, even those who did the job before are in dismay.
"It was never like this before, this is a bit tricky", says Everlyn Ng'ode who worked as a clerk in the 2013 elections.
According to her, she has been lucky working for the IEBC in the past general elections but this to her is a totally different experience.
This was the most difficult moment for those who thought it would be a question and answer session till the end.

Even though most people had gone for the computer skills training, mostly after their secondary education, a good number of the interviewees seemed to be unable to work out calculations with the excel concept on the computers.
Well, not everyone was frustrated, some even had their laptops outside the interview room doing their revision to make sure they got it right.
Some, mostly youth took this opportunity to make money while others did it free of charge.
An excel calculation would go for a minimum amount of Sh30 while word processing learning cost candidates Sh10 at place slightly far away from the interview.
