Siaya Senator James Orengo’s erstwhile political rival Steve Okoth Mwanga has been floored in the just ended North Ugenya ward ODM nominations.
Shaban Omar garnered 741 votes beating Mwanga who has contested the Ugenya Constituency election twice, each time losing to Orengo.
But this time, Mwanga who scaled down to seek MCA seat under ODM ticket only managed 575 votes.
It is not clear whether Mwanga will defect to another party to give another stab at the MCA position.
Other candidates who were eyeing to represent ODM in the upcoming by-election are Bernard Onyango and Elizabeth Owino who got 552 and 475 votes respectively.
