Governor Nderitu Gachagua's wife, Margaret, has confirmed that her husband has been undergoing medical tests but said his condition is now stable.
"Anyone can get sick, that is a fact of life. My husband is just undergoing several medical tests outside the country and he is fine," she said.
The governor's wife said she has been speaking to her husband everyday, since he left the country, adding that she would be aware if there was reason for concern.
"He is not in the country at the moment which is why he has not been able to make public appearances. However, he is doing well and is expected back in the country soon," she said.
Concerns over Gachagua's health have been raised several times by leaders and residents alike.
