KCB fail to close gap on K’Ogalo

KCB missed the opportunity to narrow the gap on Kenyan Premier League leaders Gor Mahia to three points after losing 1-0 to ten-man Kariobangi Sharks in Machakos yesterday.

The fourth-placed bankers went into the fixture requiring a victory to take their points tally to 41 and leapfrog Kakamega Homeboyz into the second place.

However, a rejuvenated Sharks had other ideas for Zedekiah Otieno men’s with Patrick Otieno’s second-half strike inflicting a third loss on KCB and consequently ending their nine-game unbeaten run.

Sharks, still 12th on the log with 19 points, were forced to play the last ten minutes with one man less after Sudanese striker John Koul was sent off for a second bookable offence.

Meanwhile, the Football Kenya Federation Electoral Board has announced the calendar to guide the electoral process of the upcoming repeat polls.

This comes barely two days after presidential aspirant Lordvick Aduda accused the federation of preparing the calendar, which was circulating on social media, before-hand and handing it over to the board for implementation.

However, these claims were vehemently refuted by the Board chairperson Kentice Tikolo terming the document ‘fake’.

And as per the released calendar, the county and national elections will now be held on March 14 and March 27 respectively.

“We have a clear roadmap to this electoral process, which we have to undertake within the timelines set out by FIFA,” said Tikolo.
