Thomas Vermaelen set to join Manchester United

Another blow for Arsenal as captain Thomas Vermaelen is set to  join bitter rivals Manchester united this summer.

United is yet to agree on a fee with the gunners but the Arsenal captain is hopeful the move will be successful. Vermaelen only had one year remaining on his contract.

The Arsenal central defender is currently with the Belgium squad in Brazil for the world cup. He wishes that the transfer be sorted before the tournaments ends.

The move would be a blow to Arsene Wenger after losing Bacary Sagna to Manchester City.
