A 24-year-old man who allegedly murdered his grandmother before killing eight animals cannot take a plea until a mental medical examination is conducted, the High Court has ruled.
Steven Omondi Chwanya is said to have killed Priscah Olumbe Were in Ruga village, Arujo location in Homa Bay.
Chwanya allegedly hacked the granny with a panga and an axe in her house shortly after 2am.
The suspect is being held at the Homa Bay Prison awaiting the mention of the case on January 25.
