A woman who claims she was wrongfully diagnosed with HIV and placed on anti-retroviral treatment wants the hospital to admit liability.
She has threatened to sue the Kwale health centre for "medical negligence" and "falsification of facts" if the institution fails to admit its mistake.
Esther Mwakazi claims she was diagnosed with the HIV virus when she visited the hospital in Diani on July 20, this year, for ante-natal care.
She alleges that medical staff told her she was carrying the virus after tests and placed her on life-prolonging medication.
Esther claims she discovered the mistake three months into the ARV regime after she and her husband sought opinions from three other hospitals in Kwale and Mombasa.
