Residents of Budalang'i rejected a donation of unknown amount from Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong during a funds drive in aid of St Benedicts Secondary School.
Drama started when the governor's representative, a parliamentary aspirant in Budalang'i Constantine Obuya rose to address the gathering and to deliver the contribution.
But the moment she mentioned she had been sent by Ojaamong, the crowd turned hostile, booed and told her to keep the contribution.
Budalang'i MP Ababu Namwamba intervened and calmed down the crowd.
However, they accepted donation from Deputy Governor Kizito Wangalwa.
