Gospel lingala is now here to stay

Kenyan fans love controversy and out of the box ideas, but it seems that most Kenyan artistes fall short of this. It is no wonder some will forever remain ‘upcoming artistes’.

For Pitson however, the Lingala genre of music was his first class ticket to the Kenyan Gospel spotlight which he is still currently enjoying.

“Lingala ya yesu” his recent gospel hit which fuses Swahili and some aspects of Lingala saw him score the Groove 2014 Song of the Year Award a fete that seemed well deserved judging by the crowd’s excitement.

An elated Pitson went forth to accept his award with his beautiful newlywed wife by his side and while at it, advised Kenyan artistes to be trendsetters and move the industry because there was still so much that had not been done yet.

Who knew gospel Lingala could catch up so fast?
