Police are holding a 68-year-old man linked to the killing of his friend following a fight in Tana River County on Sunday.
The suspect was alleged to have hacked his colleague to death at Miticharaka village in Chamwanamuma village in Tana Delta Sub County after the deceased insulted him.
Tana River police Commandant Frederick Ochieng said the argument between the two ensued and turned into a physical fight.
The accused is alleged to have taken a panga and slashed the deceased thrice on the head and ran for safety at the police station.

In a text message to the press, Mr. Ochieng said police visited the scene and moved the body of Katana Kaingu Kombe to Malindi sub-county mortuary to await post mortem examination.
“The incident occurred after the deceased who was from a drinking spree hurled insults at him and was thereby hacked instantly by the suspect, “he said.
He said the suspect will be arraigned before Garsen High court for murder once the investigation is complete.
He appealed to members of the public to avoid taking the law into their hands even if they are offended.
