The county assembly has adopted a bill by the National Super Alliance (NASA) proposing to establish a people's assembly.
The motion was passed by the assembly dominated by NASA MCAs despite a court order suspending discussions on the matter.
Majority leader and also MCA for Mwavumbo ward Joseph Ndeme moved the motion, saying the Jubilee administration has been curtailing efforts of full realisation of the fruits of democracy in the country.
During the debate, MCAs allied to Jubilee opposed the motion, saying it is against the Constitution.
