Gor Mahia has settled on Briton Dylan Kerr as the club’s next coach after the Executive Committee looked into his credentials.
Kerr was picked after Italian coach Maccoppi Stefano who was also considered as one of the favourites was unavailable.
While the name of the former Nigeria international and head coach Samson Siasia popped up, the club was cagey on contacting him for fear of the salary he would demand.
Another candidate Patrick Osen was dismissed due to his huge demands while Portugese Carlos Vansinto was omitted because he cannot communicate in English.
Gor Mahia deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala said the announcing of the new coach will be done as soon as Friday this week once they have done negotiations.

“Yes Siasia was mentioned but I do not think we can afford a coach of his status,” said Ngala.
“Our view is to have the new coach as soon as possible so that he can train with the team before the high profile friendly against Everton on July 13,” stated Ngala.
Kerr who has previously coached Simba in 2015 is currently the coach of Chesterfield Under 18 side.
“Kerr is ready and willing to come. He has stated his price which is within our budget,” we were told.
Kerr played as a defender for Sheffield United, Leeds United and Reading among other several English clubs. The 50-year-old Malta-born has 13 years coaching experience, in the US, Scotland, South Africa and in Tanzania where he coached giants Simba SC in 2015-2016 season.

The 55-year-old Italian Maccoppi Stefano has worked with lower division sides. He was born in Milan and played for Italian Serie B sides Piacenza and Bari. He has coached Piacenza youth side and has also worked with Sampdoria, Spezia and Swiss side Sion.
The Gor coaching post fell vacant following the resignation of Brazillian Jose Marcello Ferreira early last month. Assistant coach Zedekiah Otieno has been in charge over the last two matches in which Gor has lost 2-0 to Sofapaka and drew 2-2 with Ulinzi Stars.
