One may presume that the President is not in touch with reality given the pressure this matter has generated. However, for various reasons, a keen observer will understand why he should neither reply nor explain the circumstances surrounding the alleged loss of public funds.

The questions the public may be interested to know is, how did an interim draft audit report reach the editorial desk of a media house?

Was the leaking of the draft malicious or was it a case of a corrupt political scheme with media? Why was there rush to publish a draft whereas the media house could have waited until the final audit report is released?

Lastly, who would be the potential beneficiary of malicious allegations against the President and the Kenyatta family?

After answering this, the public should be told who qualifies for the 30 per cent portion of tenders reserved for women, the youth and people with disabilities.

The President has sisters, aunts and a youthful daughter, do they cease being Kenyan women just because they are related to the President? Is their a gender variable factor dependent on the positions held by their male kinsmen?

The attack on Uhuru's sister was personal and unwarranted. She is and will ever be a Kenyan woman, a mother and a sister to the President.

All Kenyan women are equal and should enjoy equal rights and privileges reserved for them by the laws of the land.
