The anti-corruption agency should investigate the alleged misappropriation of public funds in Nyandarua County.
The county administration suspended officers thought to have been involved, and later reinstated them after the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Directorate of Criminal investigations failed to investigate and establish whether the officers were culpable or not.
EACC officials should work with the governor's office and ensure the truth is revealed. A complaint I lodged at the EACC regional office in Nyeri in January is yet to be acted upon.
In the letter, I had requested the graft agency to investigate how various properties owned by some county government officials were acquired. But to date nothing has been done.
We need to know the truth. The blame game we are witnessing is not helping anyone. Establishing the truth will enable us make informed choices in the 2017 General Election.
