Irate residents of Bondeni area in Mau Narok, Njoro in Nakuru County have engaged police in running battles after two people including a minor were knocked and killed by a lorry.
The two who died on the spot were run over by a bus which was transporting wheat to Mau Narok trading centre from Njoro.
Angry residents blocked the Njoro- Mau Narok road demanding audience with the Njoro deputy county commissioner Mohammed Noor Hassan and local administration over increased cases of hit and run accidents in the area.
During ensuing demonstrations two people were shot and injured by police officers who were attempting to disperse the rowdy demonstrators.
The two have been admitted at Provincial General Hospital Nakuru where they are receiving treatment.

Police were forced to shoot severally in the air and lob teargas canisters in an attempt to disperse the irate residents who have blocked the road paralyzing transport.
Noor is currently leading members of sub-county security committee and Njoro MP Joseph Kiuna in a bid to calm the situation.
