Kenya: Evidence of whether dead voters voted in the last General Election attracted the attention of many during hearing of an election petition at a Homa Bay High Court.
In his petition to challenge the election of Kasipul legislator Joseph Oyugi Magwanga, Charles Ong’ondo Were presented affidavits which showed dead voters participated in the election.
Were who contested Kasipul Parliamentary seat on The Independent Party argued that the election was flawed to an extent that dead voters participated in the exercise.
He cited Kotieno polling station where he alleged that a deceased voter by the name Mary Arogo had voted yet he attended her funeral service a few days before the election.
