Train travel is the most romantic mode of transport, with one in 10 people finding love on the railway, according to research.
The study by East Coast Trains to mark National ‘I Love Trains Week’ uncovered that over a third of Brits believe rail travel is synonymous with finding 'the one'.
Meanwhile, a third of the 1,000 surveyed admitted they'd experienced a random act of kindness from a complete stranger on board a train.
As well as bringing out the best in people, rail travel is also considered to be the most sociable form of transport.
A whopping 40% of people admit they would choose to chat to a fellow train passenger compared to 15% on a flight and 11% on a bus.
Meanwhile, anti-social Londoners have kept to their name - just 3% of Tube passengers would talk to fellow commuter on their journey.
Byker Grove star Donna Air, is the face of the week-long 'I Love Trains' campaign.
The Big Breakfast presenter has even changed her Twitter name to 'Donna Train'.
She said: "I think there is something very romantic about a train journey – it’s the perfect opportunity to share some time with a loved one.
"I love trains. They've been a huge part of my life, and to prove it on social media for this special week, just call me …Donna Train!"
'I Love Trains Week' runs from Monday 11 August to Sunday 17 August 2014.
